Kristine Paton (pronounced peyton like the soap opera) is technically skilled. No where is this more evident than in her highly realistic paintings or her soft impressions of the surrounding landscape. Britt Germann, owner of The Path Gallery in Whistler writes, “…looking at her work is like walking down a windowed hallway; the view through each window takes us to a different place and time. Such variety is rarely seen from one heart’s hand.”  And now this heart has turned her hand to also include abstract.

Born in the Cowichan Valley, Paton continues to live on Vancouver Island agreeing with the consensus that this island is God’s Country. She moved residence from Victoria to Shawnigan Lake in 1987 but soon tired of the commute to her Victoria gallery aptly named PATON PLACE. Kristine completed construction of her new studio in 2002 and moved her business to its current location just up from the lake.

Her work can be found at SOPA FINE ARTS in Kelowna, the WHITE ROCK GALLERY in White Rock and the FINER THINGS GALLERY in Shawnigan village.
